LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville jumper and three-time NCAA All-American Andre Black will represent Team USA on Sunday at the NACAC Under 23 Championships in Toluca, Mexico.

A native of Mobile, Ala., Black will compete in the prelims and finals of the men's triple jump on Sunday at 12:10 p.m. ET. Joining Black on Team USA for the triple jump will be Arkansas' Nkosinza Balumbu. The NACAC Athletic Association's U23 Championships are held every two years in one of the 32 member nations of the North America, Central America and Caribbean Athletic Association, one of six regional athletics associations affiliated with the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).

On July 4, Black competed at the US Olympic Team Trials earning a 17th-place finish in the men's triple jump. The 2007 NCAA indoor triple jump champion completed his junior season for the Cards with a runner-up finish in the triple jump at the 2008 NCAA Outdoor Championships on June 14 in Des Moines, Iowa. It was the second straight runner-up finish for Black in the triple jump at the outdoor national championships.

Black will be the third Louisville track and field athlete to compete for Team USA this summer as women's throwers D'Ana McCarty and Chinwe Okoro competed at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Poland last week. Okoro was 10th in the shot put, while McCarty was 21st in the hammer.

Following the NACAC Under 23 Championships, Louisville's summer of international events will conclude with head coach Ron Mann serving as the men's middle distance coach for Team USA at the 2008 Beijing Olympics on Aug. 8-24.
